As part of our approach to modelling within the company, we routinely apply multi-object simulation using our powerful
FluidFlowEngine tool to everyday concerns, from public health to competitive sport.
One particularly interesting analysis has been our AI-predictor of horse racing, and to demonstrate the power of this aspect, we show the result of Saturday selections by the AI-trained FluidFlowEngine tool for horseracing in the UK.
For those not aware, UK horse racing compete throughout the year on Flat, Hurdle and Steeplechase courses on 59 racecourses in the UK, which vary in going condition (from heavy to firm and all-weather), difficulty (from speed tracks to severe stamina tests), direction (left-handed or right-handed) and from distances from 5 furlongs to 4.5 miles.
This represents a huge undertaking in terms of analysing horses, trainers, jockeys, racecourse characteristics, the draw, weather, fitness, previous form and price at the point of betting.
The FluidFlowEngine is tailor made for this, and the predictions prior to the race have been made every Saturday since January 2019, shown here on this published link. It is a fascinating real-world test of the emerging power of machine learning.
